After searching around for a few days for a tank that would comfortably fit a betta in my office, I settled on this one.
Wish it came with a heater. They say not to put one on the acrylic, but that’s the heater I had on hand so that’s what it gets. I don’t think it will melt it at 75 degrees F but we’ll find out.
Unboxing, the sponge in the filter fell out and made a huge mess of the zeolite and carbon bits on the floor. So I just kinda swept em up and put them back in lol luckily my floor wasn’t too dirty at the time.
The built in bubbler creates way too much turbulence for a Betta, so I put that ugly filter sponge over it. It’s been there for a few days now and the air pump hasn’t exploded yet so. Yay. I plan to get some plants and stuff to obscure it.
But the other thing is the opening on the top is pretty small, so it will limit what I can put in. Also you would have to eviscerate the bubbler in order to replace the substrate (I’ve seen videos of people doing this) so I will have to find plants that either float or are cool with growing on rocks. The rocks are part of the filtration. They tell you to throw out any small ones but there were so many I said f it and just tried to keep the little ones away from the center.
I wish it came in 5 gallons as that’s the recommended space for a Betta but he seems pretty happy and it’s a step up from my old 1.5 gallon.. and definitely a step up from the little cup he lived in at the store.
It’s definitely nice looking and I like the opaque sides so Mr. Hanzo doesn’t have too many reflective surfaces to stress him out. The small base makes it perfect for the little table I have it on. It’s also nice that it comes with it’s own water conditioner and bacterial starter.
So far, over all, I’m pretty happy with it. If you have limited space and need some aesthetic, it’s great.

I love the appearance of this tank. When the water is clear it is so beautiful. I had some issues though with the functionality of the tank filtration though.
— The rocks that came with the tank were large (I’m assuming this is to allow water to get to the filter at the bottom of the tank). My fish got stuck in the rocks and died. The instructions state these types of rocks are necessary for filtration, but I found them very difficult to keep clean. — I cleaned the tank out and found far too much fish food and detritus was getting stuck in the rocks at the bottom of the tank and creating problems with the water. I’ve never used a tank with a filter like this, so I’m not sure if it was functioning as intended, seeing how dirty the tank was after a short period of time. — I added some driftwood that released tannins turning my water a dark brown. The filter this tank has is really not capable of removing the tannins like other filters are. It’s not a standard size filter and a lot of other filtering products aren’t compatible. I had to put another filter on top in a very awkward set up in order to help clear the color from the water.
If you’re going to buy this tank you should be aware that the way you set it up is very important. I wasn’t getting good filtration the way I set it up and the water turned toxic. It’s also a bit of a hassle to stick your arm in the tank. The unique design can make it difficult to find additional products that will be compatible.
Even with all the negative aspects, I still really like this tank for it’s unique design. A more simple fish tank set up looks really great in this tank and functions great. Tldr; don’t use driftwood and the tank will look great.

First thing, I received not the right tank but was the same company and such so ended up keeping it. I was so looking forward to have a fish in the house until that idea became into a nightmare. . . is crazy to have to clean the tank almost every 4-5 days? only stay clean like for 1 day? then the brown stain algae or whatever is that start showing up. In addition the rocks and even the biorb decoration of 45 dollars ended up hurting or damaging the fish tail so I had to remove it only keep the middle decoration. Is horrible product, changed filter when was needed and still doesn’t stay clean for more than 4 days?? I seriously don’t know what to do! poor fish living in that tank and waste of money. Very frustrating update (May 4, 2022) My husband took over it, researched and manage to get a balance by buying so many extra products to keep tank out of that brown algae soo still good-ish but keep in mind is not a straight forward tank . . . You gotta put a lot of time and effort

Bellissimo acquario di design, costoso ma completo di tutto e facile da installare. Se volete pesci tropicali il riscaldatore va preso a parte. Consigliatissimo. Unica pecca, nella versione con semplice luce led bianca, non quella “mcr” con le luci di vari colori e il telecomando, la luce è solo manuale con una peretta on-off, cioè ogni giorno bisogna ricordarsi di accenderla e spegnerla a mano. Essendo la versione mcr molto costosa e quasi introvabile online (l’unica che ho trovato aveva un attacco incompatibile con il nuovo trasformatore dell’acquario, che ora è bianco non più argentato e ha un altro ingresso) ho risolto così: acquisto di un secondo trasformatore BiOrb Oase 73114, in modo da separare l’alimentazione della luce da quella della pompa, che deve restare accesa h24; aggiunta di una presa smart programmabile, con il ciclo giorno/notte impostato da Alexa. Volendo si può acquistare una ciabatta smart, sulla quale attaccare separatamente luce, pompa, riscaldatore ecc, ma è ovvio che l’esigenza principale in un accendi/spegni quotidiano è tipica soprattutto della luce.

I’m not new to the Biorb scene.I always brought the pricey decorations for my other fish tanks,but not the aquarium itself since they were so very expensive.Never in my life could I afford a Biorb AND the decor to set up such a beautiful tank.
Well last week its like my prayers were answered.I causally checked amazon and they were selling this tank used for 40 bucks.I had to do a double take because I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.Listing said It was in “very good with small cosmetic imperfections “.I quickly brought it,a 160 to 40 dollar tank I expected so many problems and probably a crack on the tank and missing aquarium kit parts.Something or anything that would justify the low price.
I received the tank on Thursday and it arrived in perfect condition! Everything was brand new! Even the kit parts were still sealed.No damage to the tank or even a scratch.Very happy and please with my purchase,I transferred my old Biorb decor and rocks to this new tank and set everything up following the instructions.The tank looks so premium and so very nice that even if you paid full price,its worth every penny.
