The cats love it, it’s long enough to ensure you won’t come away from a play session with bleeding scratches, and the rod material is flexible enough that it’s not going to simply snap under the weight of your cat pulling down on it as long as you don’t treat like a fishing rod. Not to mention, there’s a ton of toy pieces that come with it in the event one is destroyed or your cat is picky.
My only minor complaint is that I wish the rope that connects the rod to the toy was either more sturdy or that this came with more of them. Or even that replacement rope could be ordered separately. It does come with 2 replacement ropes, but I find they break super easily and I go through them quicker than the actual toys.
Still, worth the money for months of enrichment my cats have gotten out of it.

This is one of those rare item’s that deserve ten stars! It is Awesome! It’s built like an actual fishing pole with a foam padded handle and clear fishing line. It’s very sturdy. It’s packed full of various feathers and fun shaped toys to clip onto the end. My kitty had a ball with it, and I had about as much fun as she did! One of the clip-on’s is like nothing I’ve ever seen–it’s like a giant florescent worm and it makes all kinds of crazy, unusual movements when you drag it around. I am really impressed with this—can’t wait to play with the other cat and the dogs too. The feathers are very brightly colored so I do hope they’re not toxic in any way, since both cats love to chew the feathers. Highly recommended.

The variety is the key, and the quality is good enough for short-term use. Don’t compare it with high-quality, premium toys though—the handle is light; the extension cord figgles a bit, so wielding the wand is not as easy as other ones I’ve experienced. I trust the product enough to use it to interact with my cat, but not as much that I’d let go of it at times or leave it where my cat can find it—given the material of the string and of the teasing ends, the latter way of usage/storage may actually cause issue.

Spend $10 on a cat toy? Are you serious? Well, with inflation, in reality, this is like spending $1 when I was young–and I thought, heck my Coon is desperate for toys. So, I ordered this. It came in a plastic pouch and when I opened it, much to my surprise my Maine Coon, named Caruso saw that package and went nuts and started “singing” (true to his name, and nature).
I thought, huh? I wondered, have they sprayed a minute amount of nepetalactone on the package? (Nepetalactone is what’s in catnip) Now that would be quite the marketing ploy. Yet, it was not catnip oil, it was the color, size and shape of the toys. This guy goes bonkers, even when I put the package away somehow he knew and was ready to uh…kill.
The “rod” is a 3-component, well made fiberglass set of rods that fit inside each so it collapses to about 16″ but expands, by pulling out, to about 3′. It’s tough but will break, so use a bit of common sense. The “worms” and “birds” are cleverly made. The “string” is a monofilament fishing line, probably 60 pound test. Caruso has not been able to bite through it.
The only way I can get him to stop bugging me is to remove one of the “birds” and let him “catch” it, whereupon he will proudly run away with his catch. It takes a full ten minutes for him to think it’s dead, so I can take it back.
It’s the best, most productive thing I think I’ve ever bought for $10. Go buy one!
