However, the space within the “small” bucket was somewhat difficult to work with and they are both under 10 years old. That being said, the experience was valuable and they enjoyed learning about how molds work.

I saw others online that made a mold holding their dogs paw so I thought I would do it as a keepsake of our girl before she was laid to rest. Im aware the kit is not marketed to or provides instructions for animal use which is why I’m sharing. Note that the mold will stick to your dogs paw and be a horrific rubbery mess if you don’t prep. Be sure if you do this you oil down any parts of your dogs paw/leg that will be submerged REALLY WELL so it doesn’t adhere to their fur! Overall the kit was good but unfortunately wasted the entire molding powder and didn’t get the chance to do it again due to not doing my research.

I bought this three separate times.. The first one I bought for my work wife. We did a mold of our hands together. It came out so perfect!! Sure, there was touching up to be done after we de-molded it, but it came out so great!! I was/am super impressed…
The 2nd and 3rd ones though, not so much.. I was a bit flustered as I was sure I did everything the same, but they didn’t come out as good.. They still came out pretty decent, but there were a lot of small holes, and divots from the hair on my hand and fingers… I thought to myself- why At could have happened?? What could I have done differently??🤔 It occurred to me. On BOTH the 2nd & 3rd ones- there is a step that instructs you to dip your hand in water just before inserting into casting pail.. I didn’t do that step as I did in the first one.. The other thing I did was leave my hand in the mold two minutes longer than the instructions stated.. So, I’m pretty sure the issues with the last two were 100% my fault.. Even so- they still came out well..
I made one of my hand holding a wrench.. When I was de-molding it, I broke the tip of the wrench off.. Again, I kinda factored in that might happen.. A little JB Weld Marine epoxy, and it’s impossible to tell.. The Marine epoxy is white, so that’s why I used that one.. It also works well as I have used it many a times for a many a things!!
It’s a good product.. Follow the instructions. Have everything laid out and prepared to go, you should be fine..
