I like this (sort of) lantern and I’m imagining my hammock all strung with lights! As a proper lantern this just wouldn’t be very practical as it’s not that bright. The flashlight side is pretty useful. It’s a little too heavy to be a guy line lantern but you could use this in your hammock if you wanted to so some reading. The lights, though…just for a change of pace I could see stringing them up. I would recomment this one if one of these is what you want.

I used the string lights each night in our tent to keep the tent illuminated and left it on so we could go in and out without having to reach for the power button. It lasted Wednesday- Saturday night from about 8pm – 3am each night with no problems. I have it running now to see how long it will take it to finally die (on just the string lights only)
I highly recommend this product, and plan to share it with my friends who like to camp

Who doesn’t want a flashlight that doubles as a lantern, and ohhh has string lights in.
SPECS: This is not for the lightweight backpacker or those trying to reduce volume. It may be okay for base camping, car camping, base camping festivals.
It is 8 1/2″ long and my kitchen scales weigh it in at 10.9oz or 310gms.
FEATURES: This has two buttons. One button cycles through the flashlight function and then through the lantern function. The other button operates the string lights. You can actually have the lantern on and the stringlights at the same time. Or you could have the flashlight on and the string lights at the same time.
All the Lights have different brightness settings, with the addition that the string lights also have a flashing mode.
CONCLUSION: The string lights are the winner for this device. The lantern is okay but the flashlight is not very good. Even though the string lights wrap around the lantern, the lantern is still functional and bright enough. You do not have to unwind the string lights to make the lantern usable.

The flash light has two modes (high and low) which are cycled through one side of the switch; and is a cooler (white) color temperature; this side of the switch also turns the center tube on/off. The string lights have high/low/fade/flashing modes (note that the low mode has a slightly noticeable flicker) and warmer (yellow) tone. Either the flashlight or center tube can be turned on at the same time as the string lights (though not both). The center tube light does not work well when the string lights are wrapped around it. This would be fun for on a patio, part of an RV setup, or in an emergency, but I think wrapping and unwrapping the string lights at a back country campsite would be frustrating (there’s about 32′ or 10m of string). It’s exterior is entirely of plastic, and the white light cover pops off quite easily so I don’t believe this will stand up to much abuse. If you get this for light use (no pun intended) it’s versatile and provides a fun atmosphere, though I wouldn’t want to rely on this as your primary light when in the back country or if it’s going to be exposed to more than a light mist.

It can work as a lantern you set on your table, or you can remove the top and it has a string light. It also has a flashlight on the bottom. I highly recommend getting this, especially for such a great price.

This light is a really fun idea. Flashlight, ambient 360° light, string lights, emergency lighting (strobe), power bank all in one. The flashlight/360° light wand are turned on/off by and cycle their respective modes one switch, the string lights are on another switch, and both operate completely independently, so both switches can be on at the same time. All the lighting is quite functional. It’s not super bright, but more than enough to light a table or tent and find your way around camp. This probably isn’t the light I’d take on a hike unless I wanted some ambiance at my final destination. There’s about 32’ of pliable, plastic-coated fairy-type string light to play with. No hooks though, but it’s easily wrapped and draped. Battery life is good for a couple nights of moderate use. There’s a hook at the flashlight end to hang it. All plastic construction.
The overall execution could use some improvement – hence my one-star deduction. It doesn’t feel quite as sturdy as I’d like for the price. But the larger issue is the string lights – primarily their storage. The wrap directly around the tube light and significantly reduce its usability and output – they cover 90% of the tube when stored. When the tube is unwrapped and the string lights are out, the base with light tube is now basically tied to whatever the string lights are attached to so you can’t walk around with it. The diameter of the tube is quite small, so wrapping 32’ feet of string lights is a bit of a pain. But is still fun and great to add a little ambiance to camp or the backyard, and I’m happy with it.
