Has a range of 5 feet I’d say I’m killing carpenter bees at a 9 foot shed door mostly, typically though it’s a kill if I can get them to stay still. If ya have the cash for it I would recommend it’s fun to use and beats the hell put of using a tennis racket lol. On a final note make sure the co2 is fresh if ya need the max range. Happy hunting.

This is my favorite new toy as an adult. The only problem I have is that the cartridges are something that you have to use with this type of bug assault gun. There is no way around it. And it gets quite expensive. But like I said, it is well worth it And it really does do what it say it’s going to do. I just really wish that I could use my own salt with it and didn’t have to rely on these salt cartridges like the original salt gun but all in all I love my bug assault gun and would recommend it to anybody.

This thing will bust a hornet or carpenter bee ,lots of fun ,nice and heavy ,feels like a real revolver but would give this item 5 stars if it were pump action. Instructions say to remove Co2 cartridge each day . That is a lot of waste for me , I only need about 10 or 20 shots each day , the rest of the Co2 is waisted. All in all … I like it !!

So, I like to sit out in the pool and shoot wasps when they land on the water. It is a little ongoing seasonal war I’ve been having with nature for about the last 4 years. I’ve gone through a couple of regular Bug-A-Salt pump action guns. They’re fun, but from any distance, you’re lucky if you manage to knock the wasp into the water, and often they recover quickly and fly away. We were doing a thing where I’d shoot them, and someone else would smack ’em with the handle of a water gun. I needed more power.

Tried the $200 high power German water gun. It broke within a week. Tried the Nerf thing that shoots out semi-auto little yellow balls – too insane… balls flying off the water in every direction and no accuracy.

Saw this and thought, “That is a lot for the lower of a pellet gun with a plastic barrel attached to it.” but bought it, even though it is more expensive than the Crossman it is built on. I bought the Crossman too.

They both work, and this works BETTER – but you still need to be pretty close to the wasp… less than 3 feet ideally, in order to be sure to kill it. I’ve still had several knock-downs where the wasp was able to recover and fly away, and occasionally it’ll misfire – no CO2. Not sure what is going on there with the action that is preventing it from firing – but it is frustrating when you’ve got it all lined up, squeeze the trigger, and the hammer drops but nothing discharges. Worse, it skips the “round” leaving you with a one off round in your “clip” (it isn’t a magazine, it is a clip on this).

The replacement clips are expensive too… I think it works out to ten cents a round – but people have figured out how to reload them.

I’m worried about the long term reliability of this, especially as expensive as it is.

When you get a solid shot and you’re in good range though, it does take a wasp out – and they’re *tough*. I just wish it had a little more umph.

It is probably the best thing going for this kind of poolside fun, though. It is more accurate than firing the salt clip rounds through the Crossman variant of this pellet gun, in my experience.

So much fun for my husband and son. We got this for Father’s Day but were to excited to see how they worked. And we love that they have all kinds of accessories to go with each piece/interchangeable to different guns

Decent product, super sturdy, seems relatively well built. I only have two complaints and one is not a huge deal. 1. I wish this had the salt hopper like the original does. Instead it uses prefilled 10 shot cartridges. Not a big deal just a little annoying. 2. And this is my only real problem with it. I bought it to try to shoot carpenter bees. I’ve managed to kill one…. Not because it’s hard to hit them, it’s not. But at the range I can usually get to it doesn’t have enough power to really knock them out of the air. The one I managed to get was a result of three shots in pretty quick succession that managed to knock it out of the air so that I could then squash it with a rock.
After that I wanted to return it but found out it’s non returnable (my own fault I didn’t notice that).
So now I’m trying to figure out what it is good for killing. I hit a stink bug with it outside but again distance / power made it a multi shot kill.
Still a solid product in my opinion it’s just not able to do what I wanted it for.

This shredder has three times the power of it predecessor the bug assault 3.0. The only negative thing I can say is that you have to buy the cylinders for it.
