I just received this scooter a couple of days ago. Went out for a spin with my friend who just bought the Segway option. I’d say they are pretty comparable in acceleration. His had pneumatic tires, the ones on mine are solid. Each have advantages/ disadvantages. This one was on sale when I bought it, so like $400 less than the Segway. I bought mine to zip around the city for fun. Long commutes on it could get a little tiring depending on the terrain. It’s great on paved surfaces. It managed alright on some trails through the park – so you could use it to get through those to the beach. It climbs hills, slows down to like 7mph.
Arrived a day ahead of schedule. Looks like the battery life is pretty good.

Overall I’m happy with it. I would have to spend at least double to get anything notably more capable, and I prefer biking trails anyway.

Great last mile(s) transportation. Reasonably portable for residential buildings / office.

Update: Received email from company. Company helped me to fix the proble. Its working and running well without any issues now.
Review Update… I gave 5 star but now when I tried to charge battery, Its not charging.. I cant use is anymore.. If I have to return to Amazon I have to pay shipping cost… this is bad, very bad that its stopped working within one month.

This is one of my best purchases on Amazon. I am excited to let all buyers know this is worth buying. 10/10 rating for everything.
Assembly: It is very easy to assemble. Just unbox and put 4 screws. no addition assembly needed.
Sturdiness: This bike is very sturdy. I loved the way it is built. It looks like quality material is used and excellent finish (design). I am 132-pound, and my wife is 102-pound. We both comfortably ride this scooter together.
Value for money – As compared to other scooters on Amazon this was falling under my budget. Price is very cheap. I am riding this to work every single day since I purchased this scooter. I am saving money on gas. It’s fun to ride. Fully charged battery runs around 35 to 42 KM depends on speed and weight you are riding with.
Hiboy App: Its super easy to connect scooter with app. use features like cruise control. lock/unlock, lights on/off and more.
This scooter has two speed mode. goes to 19 miles per hour on red speed mode.
This scooter has an excellent disk break, Bright head light and break light for night rides. 500W battery.
I have ride other scooters from Amazon. My friend brought another company scooter from Amazon and after riding that I will recommend this Hiboy S2 scooter over any other scooter.

Product is as advertised. No disappointments with battery life or speed.
It was a little finicky at the beginning trying to open the latch that allows the scooter to fold.
Ride is smooth on paved surfaces however, considering that the scooter doesn’t have much suspension, it can get rough transitioning from road to sidewalk.
Scooter feels durable and has the majority of features that a beginner-intermediate scooterist would want.

Hiboy S2 Pro is very very good for smooth surfaces like a bike path or smooth pavement. It is rough if the path is bumpy. Very good quality machine. Sturdy and rugged. Good power, good brakes, good lights, great battery, well worth the money. Never get a flat. I see no glaring weakness in this machine.

I went from the ever cross EV08e to this, and I loved it. The bigger, wider tires give you a lot of stability over small bumps and separations in the sidewalks. At times I can even write it with one hand. Build quality is incredible, I’ve abused it a fair amount in the time I’ve had it and honestly I love this thing. But there are a few drawbacks. Like my title says you can’t be over 200 pounds. I am about 6 foot and 215lbs. I commute 2.6 miles…1.3 miles each way on full throttle 85% of the time, sport mode and on flat surfaces. It will hit the advertised 18-19 mph which is impressive but I get like 7-8 miles max. I’d expect at least 10-12 which is still less than half of the advertised range on these settings but not happening. Luckily I can charge it while at work so don’t suffer too much. On eco mode I reach 13-15mph and get about 14 miles. Overall as a beginner scooter this is a wonderful product. The range is a little iffy as weight is a huge factor but ask for speed, build quality, safety, and stability this is the one I’d recommend.

For those interested in the seat luckily, I purchase that as well. Cool addition but honestly it’s meant for long rides not for commuting. I’ve caught myself just coasting around on it when I’m on trails and other fairly flat surfaces but for sidewalks and other terrains you would come across going to work it’s not the best. Again weight and size maybe a factor as I’m 6 foot and 215 lbs so I have a rather large bottom so someone smaller may find it more pleasant.

As someone who’s done about two months of research and watch countless videos, I could see the high boys pretty good when it comes to bang for buck. I hope this review helps you and I hope you enjoy your HiBoy.

    Will update if anything happens!

I had this scooter for nearly a month and I must say for everything in this price point hands down five stars. However, when looking at what’s available in the price point above there are many better options out there.

The main issue is this scooter had some unique features that some might have issues with. If it’s right for you, for the price you can’t beat it. So who is this scooter right for?

If your commute is within 8 miles one way MAX and you’re under 225lbs and you live somewhere realitvely flat this will work perfectly. For a scooter with solid tires, it handles really well on wet pavement. There is some water and dust proofing however like any scooter it’s not protected against water damage. I would avoid taming it out in the rain and avoid puddles is possible. However, this scoot we has far more water proofing on it that a majority of scooters out there. Especially for the price.

The scooter is rated for up to 265lbs riders but with a single motor that’s 350W if you are at the max weight, you’ll have issues going up inclines, even really small inclines. Also the top speed is reduced to 16MPH. 18MPH if you have a really long completely flat, dry, and perfect weather conditions. Which is impressive! The scooter markets 19MPH. I only saw 14 MPH up inclines, but after 50% battery it will struggle on inclines for heavy riders. I would say for shorter commutes for heavier riders this is fine but anything over 3-4 miles on way (round trip 6-8) you will want either dual 500W Motors or a single 800W motor. I use a dual 1000W motor and have zero issues and I weigh 255. The scooter is use advertises a top speed of 40MPH and most users get 37MPH. I get 34MPH. Great value in the Hiboy S2 Pro when you get 18MPH out kf 19MPh, especially when a scooter over 2k getting 6MPH less then advertised!

My main issue is the FST battery isn’t reliable. Some rides at 50% the scooter slows down to 8MPH on flat, dry pavement. Unfortunately, I had to return mine because of this issue. As a heavier rider and someone who can’t drive and relies on this scooter daily to get to medical appointments I needed something more reliable.

It’s fantastic value for a 500 USD scooter. Honestly for a commuter scooter there is no better value out there. The build quality is great. The ride is relatively smooth for a solid tire. There’s water proofing. The weight limit is higher than most. It’s top speed and max distance is better than others in this price point. There’s plenty of room on the deck. Scooter looks great. Folds and unfolds very easily. Accessories fit onto the scooter very easily. Anything you can get for a bike will work for this. The display is bright even to see in the day under direct sunlight. All of the battery issues are completely justified at the price.

Something has to give when your scooter is priced at 500 USD. My best guess is in order to drop the price, a Chinese battery was used. I also want to point out that I’d you are under 225 the incline at 50% or less battery shouldn’t be as big of an issue. At most the scooter will slow down to 12MPH. It will maintain 16MPH with flat and ideal conditions.

In short, Great commuter scooter for short and medium distance rides for riders between 220-250lbs. Expect there to be small variances in speed and max ride distance when traveling anywhere that will take the scooter under 50% charge due to the FST battery.

For riders under 220lbs (vast majority of scooter riders). Scooter max distance will be closer to 18 miles and max speed 18MPH. If your commute is less than 8 miles one way you will be absolutely fine on a single charge! Absolutely best value for the price point. The FST battery may have some long term issues. However, HiBoy has fantastic support for replacement parts. A new battery runs 150 USD and is replaceable. If you can find an LG or Samsung battery to replace, I would consider this when it comes time to replace the battery

For both heavy and light riders. Solid tires means no flats but it also means a bumpy ride! This ride is better than other solid tires scooters, but in my opinion this is partially achieved by the softer tire used. In less than 30 days of going 50 miles a week. (Maybe a total of 100-120 miles) the tires were already very worn down. The tires are replaceable for a realitively low price but it’s something to consider.

I couldn’t stand the daily commute anymore. Now I get to see so much more of the city and realistically it only adds about 20 minutes to my commute (17 mile drove 14 mile scoot). When I first started, I treated it like driving. Now I treat it like cruising. 19mph is a good speed. Id love another five mph. It for beginners it’s a fair speed.

With my gear and weight this thing is carrying over 225. On a single charge with a flat to downhill with occasional small slopes, high gear, top speed I will get an easy 16 miles, more if I push-assist on hills. The reverse commute with flat to uphill and occasional small down slopes i will get 14 miles, more if I peddle.

The more you break the more your rear wheel regenerates meaning the less you stop the quicker you will drain the battery.

Even with the below cons, I still love this scooter for the power and price point.

    Cons:
-no key ignition or way to securely lock the scooter. THIS IS A HUGE DOWNSIDE if you are exploring or stopping off places. You can pair the scooter with your Bluetooth as a way of security but I have no trust for that. I implanted an AirTag inside the battery box for safety, and will be exploring fabricating something later on as well.
-Tubes that come with the scoot are awful and the valve on one burst within 20 miles.
-tire changes WILL BE A PAIN if you do not have an impact driver, a vice and large tire shims at a minimum. Be prepared to scrape the rims if you are new to tire change. Be prepared to disassemble the rear wiring, reapply shrink wrap to the connections and reseal the port.
    – bottoming out is possible but avoidable. Avoiding it will save the screws in the underside of your scoot that will need to be removed when you change the rear tire.
    – fold and lock handle bars make me nervous. Real nervous. But no problem yet.
    – the front break is effective and I’ve had no concern going over my handlebars. However, they aren’t the most responsive at top speed and you should practice dismount breaking when (not if) cara pop out on you.
-the rear brake light could be larger and brighter.

    Pros:

    – This scooter was easy to assemble out of the box and is instantly FUN.
    – Even without suspension, it can handle rough off-road (not mud), you just need a good grip and preparation.
    – Bright front light
    – CRUISE CONTROL
    – Weight-bearing (225+)
    – wide platform that I can stand comfortably with my large feet side by side with minimal overhang.
    – I only get passed by electric bikes when they peddle assist
    – if you push-assist you can up your speed to 21mph
    – CRUIIIISSSSEEEE CONTROL
    – display is pretty easy to use
    – 3 speeds. I don’t use the lower gears but lighter weight riders may have better use of them. I find that even at reduced speed I do not travel as far as I do on top gear.
    – the little bell is more useful than you’d expect.
    – the platform has a lil that was perfect for attaching led strip lighting.
    – smooth ride even without suspension. I have a pneumatic in the front and solid in the rear. I ride several miles off-road everyday and have no issues aside from steering wobble which is expected with all non-stabilized scooters and you won’t get that at this price point.

The media could not be loaded.

Liked that there was an option to add a seat, which I purchased directly from Hiboy. Although the saddle that came with it was too uncomfortable, so ordered a very comfortable saddle from Amazon again
As for assembly of the scooter, it was easy. Very sturdy and a great buy for the money spent.
Having hard tires was a choice I made as air tires could be more comfortable riding. I just didn’t want to deal with having flat tires to fix.
Hiboy were great responding back with an issue I had with cruise control on slow speed and it was an easy fix. They responded within a day which was great. Overall, happy with the scooter 😎
