Mens Tank Tops Novelty 3D Graphic

Okay, first off, I absolutely LOVE these shirts. They manage to make tank-tops almost dressy. The designs are gorgeous, the artwork alone makes them well worth the money, and the material is soft and comfortable. Maybe a little too comfortable for me, but more on that in a second.

The problem is, and this is a high quality problem, I suppose, that I have a V-physique from lifting weights and losing a lot of bodyfat. At about 10% bodyfat, (and still losing, thank you very much! lol) the waist of the medium is more baggy than I would like. Not crazy baggy, but loose. The spandex stretches nicely, to make it very tight in the chest, back, and upper ribs.

I would really love it if these shirts were tapered a lot more. My waist is down to about 32″ (cheating a little with the tape measure hahaha) and my chest is about 46 inches flexed (43ish relaxed). So anyone who knows clothes can see my problem. However, this is not a dig on the shirts. Its just how they are cut. And the truth is that I am not prepared to blame the manufacturer for not catering to manic fitness lunatics like me. But since a lot of men buying these shirts are like me, I wanted you to know what you’re getting yourself into.

Also, something to keep in mind if, say you aspire to have a 12+ inch difference between your chest and waist, not everyone likes their shirts to fit so tight in their tummy. So it would be a little irresponsible of me to ding the product because of my own tastes.

As an aside, even if I were prepared to blame the manufacturer because of how I like clothes to fit me, I ordered FIVE of these shirts, all different designs, of course. I was that impressed with them. If I were smart, and I am rarely ever accused of that, I would have simply ordered one, seen that the waist is loose, and then tried the smaller size. Its hard for me to imagine fitting into a Small, but I am willing to give it a try! lol This time, however, I think I will only order one.

My fear here, and again NOT the manufacturer’s fault at all, is that the waist will be perfect, but instead of being tight in the chest, it will be bursting at the proverbial seams. lol I have to look through the shirts and see which 5 I have, so I can decide which one I want to try in Small. Also, my promise to the manufacturer…if it doesn’t fit, I WILL NOT send it back. I just want to see if the Small ends up being my sweet spot. Another reason I can’t blame the manufacturer is that I purchased these shirts over a year ago, in anticipation of losing about 40 pounds. I didn’t even get started on my militant lean-down until about 5 months ago.

So when I bought the shirts they were WAY too tight. So how can I blame the manufacturer for not anticipating the size I would be about 16 months AFTER I bought the shirts, right? When I purchased them back in early 2018, I only tried one on, so as not to stretch them. I then immediately put these 5 shirts, along with all of my “skinny” spandex-shirts in a drawer, left them there, and virtually forgot about them until I was ready to “try them on” with my new physique.

The long and short of it, if you have waded through this review, is these shirts are beautiful! I mean, I see a bunch of reviews complaining about the quality and I simply don’t get it. Tank tops are almost NEVER as nicely fashioned and artsy as these. I meant it when I say that these tanks border on almost dressy. In fact, I have a sheer, button down short sleeve, completely see-through, and I think these shirts look gorgeous while wearing the mesh, dressy shirt completely open, and hanging on me. I would walk into almost ANY restaurant, with the exception of a shirt and tie place, with a pair of slacks, one of these shirts on, and a sheer, dressy see-through completely unbuttoned.

Anyway, I highly recommend the shirts, and I would also like to say a word about the seller, Aflycatus, while I am reviewing this item. They are top notch! The lady who I exchanged emails with was pleasant, warm, courteous, and very willing to give me a nice discount for ordering multiple tanks with different designs. She was out of one or two styles I wanted at the time, but still gave me the discount, sending me the shirts they were missing once they came back in stock.

At my expense, I am definitely going to try one in Small just for kicks and giggles. I have a feeling that with the way these are cut, that may be my sweet spot. 🙂

Edit: Okay, so I decided to order a shirt in Small and received it. Its a different design/pattern, and I wanted to experiment with the sizes. It fits almost perfect in the waist, but is very tight in the chest and upper back, which I kind of expected. I was considering sending it back, but the truth is that I think the shirt will eventually stretch out in the chest. One little thing here you should know, not a criticism, but a sort of FYI: these shirts don’t have a lot of spandex in the material. Meaning, I think they are mostly polyester with a little spandex in the material. If the shirts were more spandex and less polyester, then they would easily stretch to fit my chest.

This isn’t a knock on the shirts. Not every clothing designer using spandex wants to make their shirts so stretchy. But it is something you should be aware of if you are worried about sizing. If you are someone who is getting very lean, or already is, and you have a large chest and lats, just be aware that you may have to order the Medium and accept that they will likely not be as form-fitting in your tummy as you might want.

My opinion is that the shirts are still worth it, and deserve the 5 Stars I gave them. I have 6 of them now, all different patterns, and I love them.

I like the material, how it fits, and the colors are bright as I expected.

I bought this and some other tank tops for a cruise and only this one made it in time for it. Lol. I’m this one did though because it was perfect. Moisture wicking, comfy, and I got a lot of compliments.
Colors are still vibrant after three washes, and the shirt is holding up great. I’ve worn it on the cruise, to the beach, and by the pool. Altogether a great buy. Looking forward to buying a couple other prints later on cause it is a little pricey imo, but still happy I bought it!
