Instructions for putting it together were awful, but I got it done. So far the only thing the cat is enjoying is the scratching tree, my cat has used it multiple times and climbs the tree every once in a while. I’m sure she will find the hammock and other scratchy place eventually. It’s very cute and tropical looking, I bet smaller kittens would really love the hammock part, my old cat is set in her scratchy ways. I’m happy with the finished product, it looks nice and is really solid, doesn’t want to fall over. It’s pretty good size, so make sure you have the floor space.

I’m not sure if I purchased this for our 2 cats or for ourselves to have some “beach” insides the house. – It is very cute, looks very good (not cheap or snotty), but so far our cats ignore it, despite putting their toys and catnip on and around it. (We do have another scratch post already).
The material is well made, the screw holes are reinforced and mostly fit. – A small tool is provided but I don’t do well with the allen wrench/screwdriver all in one tool, and supplied my own. One caveat, the assembly, despite being avid IKEA assembler, was not quick. We timed it at 50 minutes, and the instructions where minimal (I know there is an assembly video, that may help?) The most difficult was placing the coconut onto the stem. – I wished we had done this BEFORE attaching the stem to its platform. The metal plate was a little bent and the cloth/glue had seeped into one of the bolt holes. The only place the bolt did not fit immediately.
Giving it an overall solid 4, despite our cats ignoring it! – We all know “cats”! – Maybe if they didn’t already have their scratch post and basket they’d fight over it aASAP. Not the product’s fault. – While well made I do feel the price is a little steep. Paying for a lot of “cuteness”! (*MY RATE SCALE*: 5=perfect; 4=minor imperfections; 3=on fence; not sure if I’d buy again; 2= too many problems; 1= shouldn’t be sold or dangerous).

The instructions for this cat condo are terrible. It shows two different kinds of screws. There are three different kinds of screws. The longer screws with the flat tops work better in the top and the rounded ones work better in the bottom. It came with a board tied onto the base of the tree. There was nothing to show if this was to be used in assembly or not. We figured out it is not needed and took it off otherwise assembly would be impossible. I’m guessing this was only used to protect the metal plate in shipping. The metal base plates on the top and bottom of the tree both have exposure once the condo is put together. It would have been better if these were covered somehow. The posts in the instructions are difficult to discern which way to put them so the hammock sits right. From the picture on the instructions, we chose to put the shorter end down. This is incorrect and we had to take it apart and turn it so the longer sides to the hole were down. The foam padding around the top part of the condo bed is very weak. It came malformed and is very cheap foam covered in fabric that will not hold up its shape for long. It already isn’t. When completely assembled to its tightest, I was appalled at how loose the structure is. It shakes terribly with even the slightly movement. I thought the materials of this condo were good when they arrived, however, after assembly, the construction is simply not good enough to keep this being a sturdy, useable condo for long. I am overall very disappointed in this condo. It is definitely not worth the $70 price tag.

This is an adorable. I got this for a little spot for the kittens to sit this summer in our little three season room. So far they both love it. Both the plate form and hammock are big enough for big cat to enjoy, I really does look like a mini beach scene. The only thing I don’t like is at the base of the tree the mounting plate is slightly visible. Still recommend it is cute and cats like it!

LAVAVA Cat Scratching Post with Bed and Scratch Pad, Hammock with Scratching Board. I ordered this to replace an old Taco Truck cardboard scratcher from Target which was well loved by my feline friends. This was relatively easy to put together, all holes were drilled correctly and aligned properly. Once fully assembled the cat scratcher is very sturdy and stable. It is so freaking adorable. I have multiple cats, and only the 2 smallest are interested in sitting on the chair or scratching on the post. The dangling coconuts are a favorite of one of my kitties. This is too small for my large kitties. I think this is perfect for kittens and petite cats up to 10 lbs. I really want to put some sand on the floor around the chair, but we all know what the kitties would do in the sand:(
