I’ve had two of these. The first one, the compressor made a god-awful noise every so often and I’d have to turn it off for a while and let it sit before I could run it again. I let it sit for 24 hours after I got it to prevent any issues with the compressor, but that didn’t work apparently. I eventually sent that back and waited a few months. After reviewing several options, this still seemed like the best rated unit, so I decided to give it another try. I am happy to say that I have not had any noise issues, but this one has the same problem as my last one when it comes to the ice sensor. It detects that it is full no problem, but I feel like 90% of the ice has to melt before it kicks back on to make more ice. You can always come over and lift the lid and it will manually kick back on when you close it, but that’s ridiculous. The whole point of owning something like this is that you don’t have to worry about it. you should always be able to come over to it and see a full bin of fresh ice. I really wish these things were better insulated to hold the ice longer and I wish the sensors worked to keep them full if the ice starts to melt. Otherwise, this is a pretty solid unit.

Support contacted me via email. They won’t ship a second replacement unit–their policy. I was given a full refund. It was nice while it lasted.
I bought this unit in June of 2023 and was happy with it. A few months ago I found a puddle of water on the counter and floor. Something inside had sprung a leak. To their credit, support sent a new unit out and I had it in days.
A few days ago, I have the add water light lit when there is water in the unit. Troubleshooting leads to believe the pump has gone out. I call support over three days at different times and get the message “No support is available, please try again.”
Two failed units in less than a year. Will the third one be the charm? Does support exist? I’ll update when I know more.

This machine is great. I bought it because our refrigerator’s ice maker is sub par. I don’t even use that one any more.
Ice production is pretty quick, and the ice is light & crunchy, satisfying to chomp on without fear of breaking your teeth.
It’s not nearly as quiet as other reviews said, but that may be because those households include kids & tv, so there’s other noise to drown it out. We have neither, so we hear the ice machine. It’s not any worse than hearing a dishwasher run though.
I did go probably a month without cleaning, and it started getting louder, so I immediately ran a “clean” cycle. It’s back to normal now.

Love this machine and love the ice it makes. It takes awhile to make enough ice for a party so start early. Also it’s a bit louder than I would have liked. So definitely want to pre make any ice before an event otherwise can distrupt cause conversion. Easy to set up and easy to drain.

I purchased this ice maker in Oct 2022 and was very pleased with the product. A couple of weeks ago I started noticing that ice creation was taking much longer. Sometimes it just puts out slush. I have tried the cleaning/descaling options but it isn’t improving. For the price, this product should last more than 6 months.
Update: I emailed Mueller customer service and they were fantastic! Within a few days they sent me a new machine, no questions asked, and I didn’t have to send the first one back. That is what I call customer service! Thank you Mueller!

This is a great ice maker and easy to use and clean. My family loves ice and this is the real nugget ice. Sadly after 7 months it is making a weird grinding noise and isn’t working properly. Was hoping this machine would last longer due to the price I paid.

So far this is been great but only used for a couple of weeks so far. I purchased an extended 5 year warranty just in case, due to the reviews.
It’s quick to make ice, I love the nuggets that are chewable I hate hard ice. It’s easy to use.
The only big con for me is you can’t power it off without unplugging it, the off button only puts it in pause mode not to make ice. I’m only 1 person I don’t need ice 24/7, I just want a daily basket, unplugging it nightly is a pain and an electric shock hazard in my opinion.

Tried a different brand machine and couldn’t tolerate how loud it was. The Mueller is very quiet and the ice is nice and soft and chewable.
