Instructions tell you to take a reading and wait for the beep. The beep never happens, and if you wait too long your reading goes away. Had the same problem on the first unit. Perhaps there is no beeper in there anymore, but the instructions have not been updated? Works good if you use it in front of a mirror so you can see when the reading comes up. Remember, Don’t wait for the BEEP!

We were using the small thermometers where you either have to put it up the butt or keep it under the arm for 15-30 seconds. babies don’t hold still for 15-30 seconds especially when they are not feeling well. This thermometer is easy to use, and it is backlit so it is very easy to read. My only regret is that I did not purchase this type of a thermometer sooner. This came with its own carrying case, which is a nice touch, and adds protection to the thermometer. Also, the bag helps to keep the battery with the thermometer, when the battery is removed, for long periods when the thermometer is not in use. I originally had one you slide across the forehead but felt I wasn’t getting accurate readings so I bought this. It’s so easy to read, and I feel it’s more accurate than last thermometer because this one will give me different Temps for different people. It has already let me know when my daughter had a slight fever by not only displaying the numbers but turning from green to yellow. Just a nice added touch. Comes with a nice dust bag to keep it in when not in use as well.

Unser 3 Monate alte Säugling kam und schon seit zwei Tagen sehr warm vor aber nachdem wir die Temperatur gemessen haben hieß es nur leicht erhöht, dann haben wir gesagt wir messen mit einem anderen, dass immer sehr zufällig war (wir fanden nur die Messung im Ohr nervig) und sieht da – ein ganzes grad Unterschied und er hatte hohes Fieber. Die Erstattung bekommt man einfach so – man muss nicht mal den Artikel zurücksenden, die wollen ihr nicht funktionierendes Thermometer wohl selbst nicht mehr 😅 Definitiv KEINE EMPFEHLUNG

This definitely works and gets within range of whatever the person’s temperature is, however I can do it in the same spot 5 times and the Temperature will vary a few decimals…like 86.7, 86.5, 86.9 ….idk if it’s super sensitive or what but overall it works and does what I need it to!
