Bought this for my son who was interested in learning how to “code” a robot. So the app was essential for him to use to program the movement instructions. The instructions are poorly written (and translated) on how to download the app and connect the robot via Bluetooth. The app is not even found directly on Google Play store, so you need to use the QR code to go to their web site. Once you download it, I got warnings that the app could be a security risk and recommended not to open. I granted access anyway, but once i got into the app, I could not get it to work properly. The app remote function worked for the treads, but not at all for the head. Then when trying to use the “coding/program” function, I received an error message and it simply didn’t work. Being undeterred, I downloaded it on an iPhone and after choosing the robot from the menu, it didn’t function at all. I messed around with it and with an older motor, was able to get it to move a little, which proved to me it was connected to the unit, but again none of the real functionality was there. I would DEFINATELY NOT RECOMMEND this product to anyone.

He hasn’t had the chance to build it yet, but he read everything about it and he is very happy we purchased it for him. At first we were skeptical because pieces were like lego, and we thought it might end up being janky knock off and it won’t work (based on other robot kits we had purchased before). This one exceeded our expectations, was fully assembled in a day and once charged provides a lot of entertainment for little ones.

We bought this for my son as a gift for finishing 3rd grade with excellent grades. He LOVES all things STEM and we were hoping this would be a fun learning activity for him over the summer. Wow! It is now 6 weeks later and he is still enjoying this toy. The design was complex enough to keep his rapt attention but not over his head. The robot is sturdy and does not fall apart easily. It functions well and handles easily. Highly recommend for a 9 year old that likes STEM projects. He built and operated this toy without any assistance or issues.

Haven’t finished completing this robot but I find some of the pieces are inexplicably destructured into smaller bricks for no reason. Would have preferred less pieces to speed up the construction of this robot.
