First time out of the box, we lifted off ok, but then it turned into a piece of flubber, literally bouncing from ceiling to floor to wall to wall. After the coming out from under the table, I turned it off and on again to re-establish the RC, and it was fine. I’m blaming it on sporadic WiFi or some other interference. It has done that a couple other times to but overall, it makes me very happy. Very fun little (seriously little) toy. I have other Syma choppers that are good quality and take lots of crashes. So, I felt this would be a good gamble, and it paid off. Happy flying!

I’ve been flying and driving RC vehicles for 40 years. I bought this on a whim, thinking that like most small, cheap RC toys it wouldn’t last, but I’d get my $ out of it. It’s been so much fun I now have two for when I have friends over.

It’s hard to use the word “Indestructible” regarding anything, but this thing has been flown multiple times daily since I got it. It’s bounced off of walls, lamps, light fixtures, tables, chairs, ceilings, doors, floors, and even ended up lost under the hood of my car. Had to jack the car up and fish it out from underneath with long pliers. I figured it would be destroyed, but it flew out of my hand immediately. It keeps coming back for more.

The most amazing thing, the thing that caused me to finally write this review, happened an hour ago. I was doing laps around the kitchen and bumped a cabinet. The little chopper spun directly into a sink full of soapy dish water. It spent 30 seconds under water. I fished it out, shook it off, and figured it was done. Out of curiosity I hit the take off button and the darn thing flew. It was a little wobbly at first but flew for several more minutes before the battery finally went dead. I bet it still works tomorrow too. I’ll update this if it doesn’t.

Do not fly it outside unless you are ready to lose it. It will struggle even when you think it’s “calm” out. Inside even a ceiling fan on low or the A/C kicking on will add to the excitement of flying it. Outside, even a little wind could spell disaster.

It’s a little slow for an experienced rc pilot but still fun. I highly, highly recommend it. It’s tougher than my custom built $1,500 RC truck.

The pictures don’t do enough, the chopper is much cooler in person. I do need some help though, the back rotor isn’t turning well, and feels stiff, as if the oil was to thick. This causes forward and backward motion to be shotty. The big issue though is a missing part, which Is shown in the picture I’ve provided. The heli still fly’s, just a bit annoying coming in at 40 bucks. The chopper is still functional, and fun to fly.

This tiny heli is a joy to fly in the house. Not for outside use. It is a lot of fun.

Doesn’t have a yaw function which limits it a little, but it is small and durable and fun to fly around the apartment.
Does not come with an extra set of blades as specified in the description/FAQ.

Mine wouldn’t work right out of the box. After pairing the transmitter to the helo, I could only get low speed, and it wouldn’t throttle down, so I had to let it run until the battery depleted. Hopefully I just got the rare bad one, and the others work ok-but I’m gun shy now, and will look for something else. I returned it.
UPDATE: Syma sent a replacement that works great. Great customer service. This thing is fun, and flies well! 4 stars now!

As a boy mom it’s hard at times to find toys to impress and entertain your seven year old as he continues to grow. The SYMA S100 helicopter allows both of us to play with each other, and it allows him to play with his friends. I love the fact that he can play it indoors so, even if the weather is not the best or it’s raining, he still has an active day. It also allows for him to get out of his iPad and get out of his TV and be more interactive. It’s been a win-win for everyone in our household. I will continue to buy these for gifts. You have to get your hands on one.
