*UPDATE* After writing the below review I was contacted by the seller and offered a replacement. The replacement took about a week to arrive and has been going strong for another week now. I’m upping the score from 2 to 4 stars to account for the stellar customer service. I have friends who ordered this as well and they are having no issues with theirs. So, I’m thinking there was just a bad batch or some such thing.
*Original Review* I ordered this in early December, and by late January it was already breaking. When it activates the laser blinks on and off, like there’s a loose connection. Initially it looked like there was a stray wire just getting in the way of the laser. So I opened it up, secured the culprit wire, made sure all the connections were tight and resealed it. This fixed it for a week or 2. Now the laser flickers when it gets into certain positions(the problem position changes since it’s more about the position of the wire that connects the laser to the main circuit board), and these positions are becoming more and more frequent. I expect this to die fully within the next week or so, giving this a life span of 3 months. It was fun while it lasted.

Initially this product worked great, was triggered by a pet or myself and the animals loved it. 6 months in, the laser is only works on half it’s arc and the animals aren’t able to follow/play with it any more as it breaks for a large gap in the middle of the arc. I am unsure at this point if I can take it apart at see what the issue may be to fix it, or if I have to bin the entire thing. Grrr

First thing first, my cats love it. They chase after the red dot whenever it is on.
However I have the following questions about how it works.
I got it a few days ago, and I let it plugged in 24/7 since. However it comes on something like every 4 hours+ instead of the stipulated 2-hour interval. And it does not come on when I move in front of it – doesn’t it say it is motion-activated ? I want it to stop at night but even I unplug it, it will still turn on in that 4-hour interval.
Most probably I don’t use it properly – maybe someone here can enlighten me.

I was skeptical about the motion detection until I walked through the room where we keep this toy last night and our cats were going berserk chasing a red dot. Checked with my significant other and he didn’t turn it on either. We bought this to help one of our cats lose weight and are pleasantly surprised at home awesome it is. It has several different modes and the motion sensor feature keeps them excited and gives them something to wait for. Also, it has great battery life and range. I’m really happy with this purchase and it was more than worth the money. I’d recommend it to others.

We have a 10 month old kitten we rescued from our vet’s rescue organization. Because she came from the vet, she was spayed very early and that has left her with a terribly slow metabolism. As she’s gotten chubby it’s become harder and harder to get her to really exert herself. She plays plenty, but doesn’t want to run much. We keep her calories very controlled, but she’s a kitten, is always hungry, and will eat any morsel of her brother’s food she can find. It’s been a struggle.
Anyway, I’ve purchased several cat toys to engage her, as well as all of the toys we use to play directly with her. Most of the lasers have been ok, but she doesn’t really run, just lays and bats at the laser, or tires of it really quickly. They tend to be super fast and have very small, tight laser circles.
Not this one! She loved it, chasing it all throughout the kitchen. When she tired of it I just changed the speed and the tilt of the toy’s “head” and off she went. She finally lay down, panting, but still trying to find the laser. We turned it off so she could rest, but she looked around for 15 minutes before falling asleep. This toy is an absolute winner.
Thank you for creating a laser that isn’t so fast nor moving in such a tight circle that it quickly bores my kitten. Now we’ll just have to see what our older boy thinks after his nap!

My brother has a skinnier version of this, and I thought that’s what I was getting, I’m so glad I ended up with this one instead it was so much better than my brothers for my kitty cats. My dogs love it too it’s hilarious, the cats get up there and kind of poke at it until I turn it on it’s gotten them so much needed exercise. I just need to learn to program it, which is a me problem not a product problem. I like that it’s adjustable my brothers was not it definitely makes things a lot better and safer for my animals, and our legs 😂. Highly recommend this 100% worth it.
